Kris was born on the 22nd of June 1936, in Brownsville, Texas, USA. He wrote and sang many singles in his lifetime, including Me and Bobby, MC Gee, For the Good times, Sunday Morning, etc. He joined the countryside artist named Waylon Jennings, along with Willie Nelson, and Johhny cash who was a music singer group famous back in 1985 and was a group focusing on outlaw country music. Back in 2004, he was inducted into the Country Music hall of fame. Kris’s roots are from Sweden, as his grandparents emigrated from Sweden to the USA and his father was a US Army officer. He attended Pomona College and was featured in Sports Illustrated Faces in the crowd. He got a scholarship to Oxford University and he used to play rugby for college, during that time he used to write songs.

He initiated his treatment for his condition in 2019 and in 2021 his manager rather spoke publically saying that the actor/ singer is fine in his condition. Later the two of them separated and Kris got married to Janis Joplin, later she passed away in 1970. He then married Rita Collidge and they divorced in 1980.
